Paste text with double spaces or ragged blank lines and it is tidied instantly: runs of spaces collapse to one, blank lines are removed and the ends are trimmed. Nothing is uploaded.
Two or more spaces or tabs in a row become a single space, the standard for clean prose.
Empty or whitespace-only lines are dropped, so stacked paragraph gaps close up.
Leading and trailing spaces on every line and around the whole text are removed.
Download this exact setup as a ready-made Whitespace tidier profile. Give it a global hotkey in the Windows app and any text you copy has its spacing tidied the instant you paste. Same engine as above, entirely offline.
Paste the text above and double spaces collapse to one, blank lines are removed and the ends are trimmed. Copy the tidy result, or export it as a profile for the Windows app.
The default collapses regular spaces and tabs. To also normalise non-breaking or zero-width spaces, turn on Smart quotes to plain in the tool above, which converts those invisible spaces to normal ones first.
Working with copied PDF text? Remove line breaks too.
